What it is Science?
Knowledge of something acquired by study.
All scientific explanations must ultimately be based on verifiable evidence. Without evidence, a purported explanation may be little more than speculation. In traditional religious and theistic systems, however, claims and explanations are typically based upon faith — you either accept them based upon faith or you do not. There is no presumption that evidence exists or is even necessary. Indeed, if there were solid evidence, faith would be irrelevant.
Science permeates all of our lives and is everywhere in the modern world. … The atomic and hydrogen bombs continue to threaten humanity. … We come to the conclusion that science should be used only for the benefit of human beings.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. (Aristotle)
The first philosophy (Metaphysics) is universal and is exclusively concerned with primary substance. … And here we will have the science to study that which is just as that which is, both in its essence and in the properties which, just as a thing that is, it has. (Aristotle, 340BC)
The entire preoccupation of the physicist is with things that contain within themselves a principle of movement and rest. And to seek for this is to seek for the second kind of principle, that from which comes the beginning of the change. (Aristotle, 340BC)
Only recently (Wolff, 1986 – Haselhurst, 1997) has it been possible, with the discovery of the Metaphysics of Space and Motion and the Wave Structure of Matter (WSM), to unite these ideas with modern Physics, Philosophy and Metaphysics. And let me first say that it is ironic that the main problem for human knowledge also came from the Ancient Greeks, with their conception of matter as discrete Atoms (Democritus, Lucretius).
Unfortunately, Physics took the path of the atomists (Newton, Faraday, Maxwell, Lorentz) and this led to the creation of ‘Forces / Fields’ (generated by particles) to explain how matter interacted with other discrete matter at-a-distance in Space. It is now clear that the discrete ‘particle’ conception of Matter cannot explain Reality, being founded on many separate & discrete things (how are they interconnected, how do ‘particles generate fields’?) rather than one common thing (that necessarily causes and connects the many things).
The solution is simple and obvious once known. We must simply discard the ‘particle’ conception of matter and replace it with the Spherical Standing Wave Structure of Matter in Space. i.e.
From matter as ‘particles’ generating spherical ‘fields’ in ‘space’ and ‘time’ to matter as spherical waves in Space.
Aristotle stated that there is an independent higher spirit in cosmic space – enteleheia. This spirit sets matter in motion and thought is his main attribute. In the same way, Tesla believed that a uniform Cosmos is joint in its material and spiritual sense. There is some nucleus in cosmic space, from which we take all strength, inspiration, and which attracts us forever. Tesla felt its power and its values, which it sends all around the Universe and keeps in harmony. He couldn’t guess the secret of this nucleus but he knew that it existed, and when he wanted to give it some material attribute, he ascribed that it is LIGHT, and when he tried to understand its spiritual principle, then it was BEAUTY and SYMPATHY. A man who keeps this (religion) in himself, feels strong, works with joy because he feels himself as a part of universal harmony.
In 1665, a Dutch scientist, Christian Huyigense, noticed that the pendulums of two clocks hanging on the wall near each other start to move in rhythm. It is a universal phenomenon. When two or more oscillators begin to pulse with sufficiently small differences in time (with small shifts in phase) their oscillations come into coincidence, spontaneously. They behave according to the principle of minimum energy since every separate pendulum requires less quantity of energy with synchronous pulsation than in the case of arrhythmia. This coordination is everywhere, but we rarely notice.
This crippling of individuals I consider the worst evil of capitalism. Our whole educational system suffers from this evil. An exaggerated competitive attitude is inculcated into the student, who is trained to worship acquisitive success as a preparation for his future career. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by a educational system which would be oriented toward social goals. In such an economy, the means of production are owned by society itself and are utilised in a planned fashion. A planned economy, which adjusts production to the needs of the community, would distribute the work to be done among all those able to work and would guarantee a livelihood to every man, woman and child. The education of the individual, in addition to promoting his own innate abilities, would attempt to develop in him a sense of responsibility for his fellow-men in place of the glorification of power and success in our present society. (Albert Einstein, 1949)
Famous writer/author Samuel Clemens (under the pseudonym Mark Twain) often visited Tesla’s laboratory at night. Tesla was very close to him and after Twain’s death he spoke about him as if he were alive. The writer Mark Twain died in 1910, and his enigmatic novel “Mysterious Pilgrim” was published six years later.
In this novel, he told about an angel who left the heavens and came to Earth to a small Austrian village. There he met a group of boys and told them the secrets of the universe. If we recognize the little Austrian village as Smilyany and the figure of the Angel as Tesla, then an explanation of a very strange theory on human destiny and cosmology will appear. This theory expressed in this short story made it different from other stories of this writer (Mark Twain). The Angel tells about the source of all people’s troubles and misfortunes. It all comes from misunderstanding the true sense of each minuscule events. Each of these events defines the future and links the next series of events.
Many doctors studied scores of Cayce’s readings, beginning with Dr. Blackburn and Dr. Ketchum. They attested to his inexplicable ability to consistently deliver accurate results. These findings eventually persuaded doctors to work full time with him to organize his psychic hospital. Even though bankruptcy in the depression closed down the work of the hospital, other doctors, such as Dr. McGarey, continued the idea of professionally using the general concepts of treatment which appeared in Cayce’s readings. Dr. McGarey’s A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona still functions. His books on Cayce’s notions virtually created the “holistic health” field which is now growing into a mainstream medical practice.
Many of the country’s top scientists and academics examined Cayce personally. He gave almost all of them pause, none of them debunked him. Harmon Bro, as part of his doctorate thesis during World War II, dealt extensively with hundreds of Cayce’s health-oriented readings. He professionally concluded that the readings clearly demonstrated both pre-cognitive and clairvoyant powers. Bro was still of this opinion professionally some forty-five years later, when he wrote his book “The Life of a Seer” to tell his personal story of his encounter with Cayce and his final assessment, as a professional psychoanalyst, of the validity and exceptional accuracy of Cayce’s clairvoyance. Since Bro spent a good portion of his career examining many other purported psychics of the 1950’s and 1960’s, his final conclusions at the end of his career about Cayce’s accuracy is especially well qualified.
So again what is it Science?
