Fire Breaks Out at Baja Fish Tacos in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif. — A fire broke out Saturday night at Baja Fish Tacos, a busy restaurant near the South Coast Plaza area, prompting a large response from firefighters, police and emergency personnel.
The fire was reported at about 8:45 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 3664 S. Bristol St. in Santa Ana.
A Securitas security guard, who declined to give his name, said he was making his rounds when he noticed water running out of the restaurant, believed to have come from the building’s fire sprinkler system. He then saw smoke and called the fire department.
Several fire engines and other emergency vehicles responded to the scene. At least seven fire trucks, an ambulance, police vehicles and a fire investigator’s vehicle were observed at the property.
By about 11:45 p.m., the fire had been extinguished and crews were conducting cleanup operations.
The fire affected Baja Fish Tacos and an area behind the restaurant that is used as office space.
The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire were not immediately known.
No information was immediately available regarding injuries.
