The Syrian Expert has fake credentials
The Inside Story Of How A Fake PhD Hijacked The Syria Debate
By Zack Beauchamp on September 11, 2013 at 7:54
Dr. Elizabeth O’Bagy, Syria expert, made quite an impression on Senator John McCain. During Senate hearings, the former Presidential candidate quoted at length from her recent Wall Street Journal op-ed painting a rosy picture of a mostly secular, pro-Western anti-Assad insurgency.
“John, do you agree with Dr. O’Bagy’s assessment of the opposition?,” the Senator asked the Secretary of State John Kerry. “I agree with most of that,” he replied.
Except Dr. O’Bagy wasn’t actually a doctor. Her PhD was fabricated, a lie she told her employers at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), an influential neoconservative-aligned think tank, to get hired. Ironically, it ended up being the lie that got her fired Wednesday. This postmodern reenactment of the Icarus myth also provides a bizarrely informative window into the way that Washington’s foreign policy sausage gets made.
O’Bagy got her start last year, when she interned for ISW’s Iraq portfolio while completing a Master’s in Arab Studies at Georgetown University. Kimberly Kagan, the President of ISW, was so impressed that she hired O’Bagy to start even before the young analyst finished her degree. “Her insights and her [Arabic] linguistic skills were tremendous,” Kagan said.
But O’Bagy had already begun to misrepresent her credentials. Kagan told me that she “knew [O’Bagy] was a student at Georgetown in a combined masters/PhD program,” and that new hire was writing a dissertation on “female militancy in Islamic extremist organizations.” Several media outlets have repeated this account as fact in their write-ups of O’Bagy’s firing, all maintaining that she is still in the process of completing a Georgetown doctorate.
This is almost certainly false. Either O’Bagy was at one point enrolled a PhD program and dropped out, or she has been lying the entire time. Some evidence points to the latter.
To begin with, O’Bagy was enrolled in the Arab Studies Master’s program, which only partners with three departments for joint doctorate programs: Government, History, and Arabic Language, Literature, and Linguistics. Given her purported topic, she would have partnered with Government — according to one Georgetown PhD student who met O’Bagy, she had claimed a distinguished member of the Government Department as her adviser.
She is not listed as a PhD student on the Government department’s website. She does not exist in the university directory. A search of the entire Georgetown website turns up only one hit, a congratulations notice for her Master’s graduation.
There is “no evidence that she is associated with our department in any way; she’s not among our students as far as we can tell,” Daniel Nexon, a Government Professor who served as the Director of Admissions and Fellowships for all but one of the years she could have applied. The professor who was supposedly advising O’Bagy’s dissertation has never heard of her.
When I asked Kagan about the evidence of O’Bagy’s initial, ongoing deception, she demurred. “That I actually need to refer you to Georgetown for.”
After ISW hired her in the late summer of 2012, O’Bagy quickly went about using her top-notch Arabic skills to feel out the situation on the ground in Syria. She made a number of contacts among the anti-Assad insurgents, a feat relatively few DC analysts had accomplished.
Though we know those trips took place, it’s not quite clear who funded them. It certainly wasn’t ISW: when I asked Kagan how O’Bagy made all her Syrian friends, she sounded stumped. “That’s a really good question. I’m afraid I can’t really tell you that,” the ISW President said, acknowledging that O’Bagy’s expertise wasn’t gathered through ISW projects or ISW-funded trips. “She kept me informed about [her opposition contacts] and apprised me that they existed.”
However O’Bagy acquired her contacts, the work they helped her produce was influential and widely respected. Over the course of roughly a year, she went from a graduate student and intern to a pundit making regular appearances on Fox News and being published in Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, and well, The Wall Street Journal. She was promoted to Senior Analyst and then to Syria Team Lead at ISW, and had become known as a go-to expert on the Syrian rebels among foreign policy experts.
But the closer Icarus flew to the sun, the faster the wax on her feathers began to melt. The first hard record of her claiming a doctorate came in April 2013, when she told a friend, Jonathan Rue, that she was “soon to be Dr. O’Bagy.” According to Kagan, she began widely claiming the Dr. title in May, right around when she graduated from her Master’s program.
That’s also when she took on as second position as the Political Director of the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), a pro-Syrian rebel lobbying group that identified her as “Dr. Elizabeth O’Bagy.” It’s in that capacity when she and Senator McCain likely first came into direct or indirect contact, as SETF assisted in planning the Senator’s secret trip to Syria.
The implicit tension between O’Bagy’s prominent public role and her fake credentials became unbearable after McCain and Kerry touted her work in the closely watched hearings on Congressional authorization for war in Syria. But weirdly, the first questions raised about O’Bagy weren’t because of anything she did wrong personally. The Journal op-ed cited by Kerry and McCain did not identify O’Bagy’s role at SETF, relevant information for readers of a piece that paints a picture of the Syrian opposition as relatively moderate.
The Journal’s mistake (which it later corrected) led to more intense scrutiny of O’Bagy’s past. The Daily Caller, which first broke the Journal’s omission on September 5th, did a follow-up on September 9th in which O’Bagy claimed to have written her dissertation.
More importantly, September 9th was also the day that a discussion broke out amongst a group of scholars about O’Bagy’s purported Georgetown credentials. Records obtained by ThinkProgress show a conversation, which included members of the Georgetown faculty, in which a number of academics expressed deep skepticism about O’Bagy’s Ph.D. Near the end of the conversation, one participant mentioned that “ISW was contacted” with the group’s concerns.
Just days before, on September 4th, ISW’s website had described her as “Dr. Elizabeth O’Bagy.” I confirmed with Kagan that O’Bagy had not updated the bio herself, indicating that ISW support staff had been notified of the purported change in O’Bagy’s status. By late on the 9th, the Dr. reference had been deleted, and O’Bagy had been dismissed — a move that was announced on the morning of the 10th.
Kagan credits O’Bagy with finally turning herself in. “I think the most important thing that I need to tell you is that Elizabeth told me [on the 9th] that she had not successfully defended her dissertation.” It’s not clear what finally prompted her to do that. I asked Kagan to forward a request for comment to O’Bagy but, as of yet, have heard nothing. I probably won’t: O’Bagy told Buzzfeed that she is “no longer legally allowed to discuss my employment with [ISW] or affiliate it any way.” So there’s a decent chance we’ll never know the whole story.
Regardless, O’Bagy’s rise and fall is yet more evidence that the talented people who populate America’s media and policy apparatus never seem to quite fully internalize: never, ever lie about something someone else can prove you wrong about. You’re going to get caught.
Qatar behind transfer of chemicals to Syria militants: Report

According to a Saturday report by the Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar, Qatari officers Fahd Saeed al-Hajiri and Faleh Bin Khalid al-Tamimi were behind the transfer of chemical substances to anti-Syria militants through Ankara.
The Qatari officers were later killed in a suspicious explosion in Somalia in May, the report said.
On March 19, over two dozen people were killed and many others injured when foreign-backed militants fired missiles containing a chemical substance into the Khan al-Assal region in the northwestern city of Aleppo, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported.
The new report by the Lebanese daily was based on information received from the security service of an unnamed country in the region. The details of the case had been handed over to the Russian intelligence agency (FSB), the report said.
Please do not forget the news that circulated world wide on January this year. A leaked email from Britam private contractor David Goulding head of Britam.
Where a German hacker went fishing around the servers of Britam Defense – a private military contractor, which provides such services as securing of oil production and transportation.
In an attempt to cover up the issue as Moscow demanded Ankara for explanation, Turkey announced that it had confiscated two kilograms of the nerve agent sarin following the arrest of 12 members of the terrorist al-Nusra Front, the report added.
On May 30, Turkish media reported that two kilograms of sarin gas as well as heavy weapons had been discovered during raids on the homes of 12 members of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front in Turkey’s southern city of Adana, located some 150 kilometers (93 miles) from the border with Syria.
The United States has claimed that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against the militants and thus crossed Washington’s “red line,” while Damascus dismisses the allegations as mere “lies” and “fabrications.”
On May 5, the UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria said it found testimony from victims and medical staff that shows militants had used the nerve agent sarin in Syria.

A scandal around Britam Defense implicates the US and Britain in preparing a large-scale provocation in Syria
The news about the security breach of the military contractor Britam Defense was not reported by any Western media outlet. Instead it was shared through blogs, communities of hackers and social platforms.
Also, in Russia this news was first picked up by different blogs (EX I, EX II) and only later published in some mainstream sources (EX I, EX II).
When it comes to the international matters, RedHotRussia is more interested in the opinions of Russian netizens about them, than in the veracity of the information itself.
Anyway, I will first recap the news itself, afterwards translate an article from “Komsomolskaya Pravda” to show how it was presented in one of Russia’s major newspapers and finally translate the comments of Russian netizens.

World Exclusive: US urges UK and France to join in supplying arms to Syrian rebels as MPs fear that UK will be drawn into growing conflict

SUNDAY SUNDAY Sunday 16 June 2013
Washington’s decision to arm Syria’s Sunni Muslim rebels has plunged America into the great Sunni-Shia conflict of the Islamic Middle East, entering a struggle that now dwarfs the Arab revolutions which overthrew dictatorships across the region.
For the first time, all of America’s ‘friends’ in the region are Sunni Muslims and all of its enemies are Shiites. Breaking all President Barack Obama’s rules of disengagement, the US is now fully engaged on the side of armed groups which include the most extreme Sunni Islamist movements in the Middle East. The Independent on Sunday has learned that a military decision has been taken in Iran – even before last week’s presidential election – to send a first contingent of 4,000 Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Syria to support President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against the largely Sunni rebellion that has cost almost 100,000 lives in just over two years. Iran is now fully committed to preserving Assad’s regime, according to pro-Iranian sources which have been deeply involved in the Islamic Republic’s security, even to the extent of proposing to open up a new ‘Syrian’ front on the Golan Heights against Israel. In years to come, historians will ask how America – after its defeat in Iraq and its humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan scheduled for 2014 – could have so blithely aligned itself with one side in a titanic Islamic struggle stretching back to the seventh century death of the Prophet Mohamed. The profound effects of this great schism, between Sunnis who believe that the father of Mohamed’s wife was the new caliph of the Muslim world and Shias who regard his son in law Ali as his rightful successor – a seventh century battle swamped in blood around the present-day Iraqi cities of Najaf and Kerbala – continue across the region to this day. A 17th century Archbishop of Canterbury, George Abbott, compared this Muslim conflict to that between “Papists and Protestants”.America’s alliance now includes the wealthiest states of the Arab Gulf, the vast Sunni territories between Egypt and Morocco, as well as Turkey and the fragile British-created monarchy in Jordan. King Abdullah of Jordan – flooded, like so many neighbouring nations, by hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees – may also now find himself at the fulcrum of the Syrian battle. Up to 3,000 American ‘advisers’ are now believed to be in Jordan, and the creation of a southern Syria ‘no-fly zone’ – opposed by Syrian-controlled anti-aircraft batteries – will turn a crisis into a ‘hot’ war. So much for America’s ‘friends’.Its enemies include the Lebanese Hizballah, the Alawite Shiite regime in Damascus and, of course, Iran. And Iraq, a largely Shiite nation which America ‘liberated’ from Saddam Hussein’s Sunni minority in the hope of balancing the Shiite power of Iran, has – against all US predictions – itself now largely fallen under Tehran’s influence and power. Iraqi Shiites as well as Hizballah members, have both fought alongside Assad’s forces.Washington’s excuse for its new Middle East adventure – that it must arm Assad’s enemies because the Damascus regime has used sarin gas against them – convinces no-one in the Middle East. Final proof of the use of gas by either side in Syria remains almost as nebulous as President George W. Bush’s claim that Saddam’s Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction. For the real reason why America has thrown its military power behind Syria’s Sunni rebels is because those same rebels are now losing their war against Assad. The Damascus regime’s victory this month in the central Syrian town of Qusayr, at the cost of Hizballah lives as well as those of government forces, has thrown the Syrian revolution into turmoil, threatening to humiliate American and EU demands for Assad to abandon power. Arab dictators are supposed to be deposed – unless they are the friendly kings or emirs of the Gulf – not to be sustained. Yet Russia has given its total support to Assad, three times vetoing UN Security Council resolutions that might have allowed the West to intervene directly in the civil war.In the Middle East, there is cynical disbelief at the American contention that it can distribute arms – almost certainly including anti-aircraft missiles – only to secular Sunni rebel forces in Syria represented by the so-called Free Syria Army. The more powerful al-Nusrah Front, allied to al-Qaeda, dominates the battlefield on the rebel side and has been blamed for atrocities including the execution of Syrian government prisoners of war and the murder of a 14-year old boy for blasphemy. They will be able to take new American weapons from their Free Syria Army comrades with little effort. From now on, therefore, every suicide bombing in Damascus – every war crime committed by the rebels – will be regarded in the region as Washington’s responsibility. The very Sunni-Wahabi Islamists who killed thousands of Americans on 11th September, 2011 – who are America’s greatest enemies as well as Russia’s – are going to be proxy allies of the Obama administration. This terrible irony can only be exacerbated by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s adament refusal to tolerate any form of Sunni extremism. His experience in Chechenya, his anti-Muslim rhetoric – he has made obscene remarks about Muslim extremists in a press conference in Russian – and his belief that Russia’s old ally in Syria is facing the same threat as Moscow fought in Chechenya, plays a far greater part in his policy towards Bashar al-Assad than the continued existence of Russia’s naval port at the Syrian Mediterranean city of Tartous. For the Russians, of course, the ‘Middle East’ is not in the ‘east’ at all, but to the south of Moscow; and statistics are all-important. The Chechen capital of Grozny is scarcely 500 miles from the Syrian frontier. Fifteen per cent of Russians are Muslim. Six of the Soviet Union’s communist republics had a Muslim majority, 90 per cent of whom were Sunni. And Sunnis around the world make up perhaps 85 per cent of all Muslims. For a Russia intent on repositioning itself across a land mass that includes most of the former Soviet Union, Sunni Islamists of the kind now fighting the Assad regime are its principal antagonists.Iranian sources say they liaise constantly with Moscow, and that while Hizballah’s overall withdrawal from Syria is likely to be completed soon – with the maintenance of the militia’s ‘intelligence’ teams inside Syria – Iran’s support for Damascus will grow rather than wither. They point out that the Taliban recently sent a formal delegation for talks in Tehran and that America will need Iran’s help in withdrawing from Afghanistan. The US, the Iranians say, will not be able to take its armour and equipment out of the country during its continuing war against the Taliban without Iran’s active assistance. One of the sources claimed – not without some mirth — that the French were forced to leave 50 tanks behind when they left because they did not have Tehran’s help.It is a sign of the changing historical template in the Middle East that within the framework of old Cold War rivalries between Washington and Moscow, Israel’s security has taken second place to the conflict in Syria. Indeed, Israel’s policies in the region have been knocked askew by the Arab revolutions, leaving its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, hopelessly adrift amid the historic changes.Only once over the past two years has Israel fully condemned atrocities committed by the Assad regime, and while it has given medical help to wounded rebels on the Israeli-Syrian border, it fears an Islamist caliphate in Damascus far more than a continuation of Assad’s rule. One former Israel intelligence commander recently described Assad as “Israel’s man in Damascus”. Only days before President Mubarak was overthrown, both Netanyahu and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia called Washington to ask Obama to save the Egyptian dictator. In vain. If the Arab world has itself been overwhelmed by the two years of revolutions, none will have suffered from the Syrian war in the long term more than the Palestinians. The land they wish to call their future state has been so populated with Jewish Israeli colonists that it can no longer be either secure or ‘viable’. ‘Peace’ envoy Tony Blair’s attempts to create such a state have been laughable. A future ‘Palestine’ would be a Sunni nation. But today, Washington scarcely mentions the Palestinians.Another of the region’s supreme ironies is that Hamas, supposedly the ‘super-terrorists’ of Gaza, have abandoned Damascus and now support the Gulf Arabs’ desire to crush Assad. Syrian government forces claim that Hamas has even trained Syrian rebels in the manufacture and use of home-made rockets. In Arab eyes, Israel’s 2006 war against the Shia Hizballah was an attempt to strike at the heart of Iran. The West’s support for Syrian rebels is a strategic attempt to crush Iran.

Israel Global Insecurity

To present this article I had to borrow Benjamin Netanyahu lessons from the past. When Bibi was a young boy, he was already being nurtured in the path to terrorism. He was already presenting his case to the West on terrorism. In 1986 “Terrorism – How the West Can Win”
Any Nation that defend the rights of the Palestinians it is enemy of Israel. The PLO has been the nightmare of Israel for many years. Not because the PLO it is strong force against Israel aggressions but, because the PLO represents the Palestinian people.
In its 1986 TERRORISM book, Benjamin Netanyahu gives us example of terrorist tactics and ideas.
“The TERRORIST embraces the totalitarian’s substitution of unmorality for morality. Like the totalitarian the terrorist believes his particular cause justifies any atrocity and endows it with moral goodness, he politicizes all society and recognizes no restrains” Benjamin Netanyahu, 1986 on TERRORISM AND TOTALITARIANISM
As you can see Israel had followed its own lessons on TERRORISM. It has acted alone justifying its existence as the only valid reason to attack other nations that sympathizes with the Palestinian cause. To justify it’s existence, Israel had killed millions of people around the world. It had committed the most atrocious acts of terrorism. It has cheat other Nations, Spied on them. It has ignored the directives of the International Court of Justice on human rights issues, on the construction of the Illegal Apartheid Wall and had continuously refused to abide by the UN resolutions.
This is book is phenomenally instructive to learn the terrorist tactics that Israel had followed for few decades. In its ranting of defining TERRORISM, Benjamin goes on saying that “terrorism is not an sporadic phenomenon born of social misery and frustration. It is rooted in the political ambitions and designs of EXPANSIONIST STATES and the group that serve them, “They(States) neatly echo the terrorist’ own assertions, which are meant to legitimize their criminal actions and divert public attention from the real forces behind terrorism” pg 8 Defining Terrorism.” Benjamin Netanyahu
WikiLeaks: Israel destroyed nuclear facilities in Iran

Israel bombs Baghdad nuclear reactor
Israel destroys Iraqi Nuclear Reactor Plant on June 07, 1981
On June 7, 1981 Israeli warplanes struck the Osirak nuclear facility near Baghdad. This “unprovoked” action by Israel was a pre-emptive strike to deny Iraq the capability of producing nuclear weapons, weapons Israeli intelligence believed were in the works. Iraqi defenses were taken by surprise and opened fire too late. In one minute and twenty seconds, the reactor lay in ruins. The IAF planes returned to base without losses.
The Israelis have bombed a French-built nuclear plant near Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, saying they believed it was designed to make nuclear weapons to destroy Israel.
It is the world’s first air strike against a nuclear plant.
An undisclosed number of F-15 interceptors and F-16 fighter bombers destroyed the Osirak reactor 18 miles south of Baghdad, on the orders of Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
The army command said all the Israeli planes returned safely.
The 70-megawatt uranium-powered reactor was near completion but had not been stocked with nuclear fuel so there was no danger of a leak, according to sources in the French atomic industry.
Sudan accuses Israel of bombing military factory, talks of “inside job”
Israel Destroyed Sudan Arms Manufacturer on October 24, 2012
The Sudanese government has blamed an Israeli airstrike for the explosion of a military factory in the capital Khartoum on Tuesday, warning that it reserves the right to respond, while Tel Aviv maintained the usual silence in response to the charge.
- Sudanese demonstrators hold banners and chant anti-Israeli slogans during a protest in Khartoum on October 24, 2012, as the Sudanese cabinet prepared to hold an urgent meeting regarding the Israeli missile strike that hit a military factory. Sudan has accused Israel of the attack and has threatened to take action.
Sudan’s Minister of Media, Ahmad Bilal Osman, made the charge during a press conference held in Khartoum on Wednesday, saying Khartoum has evidence of Tel Aviv’s involvement in the destruction of Al-Yarmook factory in the southern suburbs of Khartoum at midnight.
Dan Patir: ‘U.S. Apparently Disregarded Israel’s Intelligence Interests By Publication Of Secret Israeli Photos Of Syrian Nuclear Reactor Destroyed By Israeli Air Strike’
Israel destroyed Syrian Nuclear Reactor Plant on September 06, 2008
The latest Olmert-Assad peace overtures coincided with U.S. congressional hearings on an alleged clandestine Syrian nuclear facility destroyed by an Israeli airstrike last September. Some analysts suggested that the timing of the hearings might have been geared deliberately to torpedo peace efforts. Photographs shown at the hearings of the Syrian site bombed by Israel and a North Korean nuclear facility displayed an uncanny resemblance. U.S. intelligence suggested that the Syrian reactor was close to becoming operational and would have been able to produce enough plutonium over a year or two for several nuclear bombs.

Dan Patir, an advisor to Prime Ministers Menachem Begin and Yitzak Rabin, told IsraCast that Washington apparently ignored the Israeli-Syrian situation and preferred to take North Korea to task. In an in-depth interview, Patir assesses prospects for Prime Minister Olmert and Syrian President Assad to follow in the footsteps of Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat in forging a peace treaty.
I think that after all the atrocities committed in behalf of Israel Apartheid State, it is time that put responsibility on individuals and not on an idea. “Zionism” it is only an idealist term, worshiped and converted to a movement equipped with its own wheels. The leaders of the Nations that had made possible this pariah state to stays strong need to be brought to justice. The Elite that with their money has made possible the existence of this Terrorist Apartheid System that it is Israel need also to be brought to justice. The people behind the UN Club of 5 that for 6 decades had made impossible the impartiality of Justice when it come to Palestine they also need to be prosecuted.
I think the times has come to start the Jerusalem Trials against the Criminals that had supported Israel.
Justice is due NOW.
Syria: UN-Arab League envoy holds talks on crisis with President Bashar Al-Assad

UPDATED
The UN and Arab League envoy to Syria Lahdar Brahimi is in Damascus holding talks with President Bashar al-Assad and members of the opposition. Brahimi arrived in the Syrian capital by car because of the unstable situation at Damascus Airport where fighting between government troops and opposition forces has been ongoing for weeks.
The Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and the League of Arab States for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, met with President Bashar al-Assad today for further talks on the situation in the war-torn Middle Eastern country.
“The President expressed his view regarding the current situation and I briefed him on the meetings I had in several capitals with officials from different countries inside and outside the region,” Mr. Brahimi told reporters in the Syrian capital of Damascus following the meeting.
“I also told him about the steps that in my view need to be taken to help the Syrian people find a way out of this crisis,” he added.
While the US declared publicly that they recognized the Rebel Groups-Syrian Opposition Council as the legitimate representative of the Syrian People, the international body of the UN hold important talks for the region with President Bashar Al-Assad. Yahoo News

Mr. Brahimi has been engaged in a series of meetings in the region and elsewhere as part of his efforts to bring about a negotiated, political solution to end to the fighting in Syria, where at least 20,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed since the uprising against President al-Assad began in March 2011. The conflict has spawned more than 500,000 refugees, while an estimated four million people inside the country need urgent humanitarian assistance.
Few months ago the leaders of the world and the Arab League were talking in terms of ousting President Bashr Al-Assad as the only way to resolve the Syrian conflict, now after close to 40,000 deaths, 500,000 refugees and great parts of Syria infrastructure destroyed they change the tone.
On December 20, 2012 the United Nations released a report from their independent panel on human rights noting in their latest update, “UN independent panel finds more breaches of human rights law by parties to Syrian conflict” UN News Center

In addition to meeting with regional leaders and government representatives, Mr. Brahimi has also met with officials such as Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, and the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, amongst others.
At the media encounter in Damascus, the Joint Special Representative also addressed claims of difficulty in arranging to meet with the Syrian President.
“I would like to seize this opportunity to comment on what was said a few days ago about the reluctance of President to receive me during my previous visits, and his refusal to see me this time, and that I asked the Russians to intervene with the President to convince him to meet with me, or otherwise I would resign – I would like to say that not one word of this is true,” Mr. Brahimi said.
The Joint Special Representative has previously stated that a peace process could be based on the so-called Geneva communiqué, which was issued after a meeting in the Swiss city of the Action Group for Syria – made up of interested parties – in late June and which lays out key steps in a process to end the violence in Syria.
“The situation is Syria is still worrying and we hope that all parties would adopt a solution that would meet the aspirations of the Syrian people,” Mr. Brahimi added.
Amongst other items, the Geneva communiqué called for the establishment of a transitional governing body, with full executive powers and made up by members of the present Government and the opposition and other groups, as part of agreed principles and guidelines for a Syrian-led political transition.
The parties involved in providing ammunition to the Rebel groups inside Syria are to blamed for the escalation of this conflict. From all the regions in the world where the US/NATO has mingled in the internal business of a country, Syria has backfired on everyone. It is reasonable to deduct that a strong country such Syria, surrounded by powerful allies like China and Russia was going to stand strong.
Every country with a working government should not be undermine with threats from outsides countries. The civilian population should be the first thing in mind when “Allies of the Willing” want to input their ideas of democracy. We must never forget Iraq and Afghanistan destroyed by the hungry armies of the Allies.
Boris Dolgov of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, comments.
“The current talks in Damascus mark a major step towards Syrian settlement. However, things won’t change much as long as armed opposition groups are supported from abroad. But talks, no matter in what format, are always welcome.”
Forces that pushed Syria into civil war exceed Lahdar Brahimi’s diplomatic potential, says Sergei Demidenko of the Institute of Strategic Evaluation and Analysis. Voice of Russia

“We want Russian troops to stay in Tartus”: head of Syria’s National Coordination Committee.

Representatives of the Syrian opposition traveled to Moscow to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The National Coordination Committee is one of most moderate opposition groups which are ready for talks with the government. However, now its members fear arrest on their arrival in Damascus and are seeking Russia’s protection.
The head of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) of Syria says the “internal” opposition strongly opposes foreign interference in the affairs of the country.
Hassan Abdel-Azim, the head of the Coordination Committee and Syria’s delegation to Moscow, told the Voice of Russia about the Moscow talks and further plans of the opposition.
Upon arrival in Moscow for the NCC delegation’s talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Hassan Abdel Azim said the committee wants to radically change the situation in Syria to build a democracy.
Deputy Coordinator Aref Dalila, in turn, said that the opposition was ready to negotiate with the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
During the meeting with Russia’s Minister the Syrians hope to hear Moscow’s assessment of events unfolding in their country, and shall offer their views on how to stop the violence and what should be done by “external players” in order to facilitate this.
Have you noticed any changes in Russia’s stance when meeting with Sergey Lavrov?
Not a single change. We had extremely frank talks and Moscow perfectly realizes that Syria is now following the most dangerous possible scenario. When we came to Moscow last April, we warned of this possibility and our fears came true – the more Syrian government resorted to force, the more violence they saw from the opposition. Syria now has jihadists from the Arab and the neighboring countries.
Minister Lavrov told us that he had forwarded a warning letter to Syria’s government against using military hardware and jets in the conflict. This was a right move. I wish this letter had been sent earlier, taking into account that all these tanks and warplanes are Russian-made. When people are hit by shells and rockets, it certainly affects their attitude to the country.
What else was on the agenda?
We all agreed that the conflict can be solved only through joint efforts of the global community. We need the UN Security Council members to be unanimous and agree on the ways to end the conflict. We also need Iran, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia on the one side and the Arab countries on the other to act together.
What can become the common ground?
For example, the Geneva resolutions adopted this summer.
Lakhdar Brahimi’s mission in the country should also carry on with its work and we need a transitional government as well as a new constitution. The amendments adopted in early 2012 didn’t take into account the opposition at all. And we really need to stop the bloodshed.
What can the global community do?
Syria needs the resumption of international peacekeeping mission and it should be expanded – not some hundred of troops we had before.
We need observers in every province, especially in the border regions to stop weapon supplies and smuggling. We already spoke about this with Lakhdar Brahimi. We also don’t mind a peacekeeping contingent comprising Arabs and other nationalities.
Have you discussed Russia’s Mediterranean naval facility at the Syrian port of Tartus?
Yes we have, and we think that Russia has a right to stay there even when Syria becomes a real democracy. The talks made us feel that we are trusted, as we had always opposed foreign interference in Syrian affairs and backed maintaining close ties with our former partners. We need a balanced foreign policy and ties with all countries except Israel, which still occupies the Golan Heights. They should be freed and here we’ll need Russia’s help.
End drawing close for Syria’s Assad

While news from Berlin seem catastrophic for Syria, other news are coming from Russia indicating that Syrian President Bashar Assad is good to stay. While Russia holds the political and economical power in Europe and Asia there is not much the US/Israel alliance can do to bring Syria Government down.
According to “A German Spy”, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government is its final stages and will be unable to survive as more parts of the country slip from his control, the head of Germany’s foreign intelligence agency (BND) said.
“Armed rebels are coordinating better, which is making their fight against Assad more effective,” Gerhard Schindler told the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung newspaper, in an interview made public on Saturday.
“Assad’s regime will not survive.”
Rebels fighting to topple Assad declared Damascus International Airport a battle zone on Friday, while Moscow and Washington both sounded downbeat about the prospects of a diplomatic push to end the conflict after talks.
Syrian rebel commanders have elected a new 30-member leadership council and a chief of staff, a senior rebel said Saturday in a major step toward unifying the opposition that is fighting to oust President Bashar Assad. The Supreme Military Council, which was chosen Friday during a meeting in Turkey, will work with the political leadership that was chosen last month in Qatar.
Fighting around the capital city has intensified over the past week, and Western officials have begun speaking about faster change on the ground in a 20-month-old conflict that has killed 40,000 people.
“Evidence is mounting that the regime in Damascus is now in its final phase,” Schindler said.
Although neither Assad nor the rebels had been able to take the upper hand, Assad was losing control of more and more parts of the country, and was focusing his energy on defending Damascus, key military sites and airports, Schindler added.
Schindler’s comments echoed remarks made yesterday by U.S. ambassador to Syria Robert Ford, who was withdrawn last year.
Russian and U.S. diplomats are meeting Sunday with U.N. peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi for more talks on the civil war in Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, adding that the Americans were wrong to see Moscow as softening its position.
Russia agreed to take part in the talks in Geneva, he said, on the condition there would be no demand for Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down.
“We are not conducting any negotiations on the fate of Assad,” Lavrov said Sunday. “All attempts to portray things differently are unscrupulous, even for diplomats of those countries which are known to try to distort the facts in their favor.”
Lavrov met last week with Brahimi and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in Dublin. Afterward, Clinton said the United States and Russia were committed to trying again to get both sides in the Syrian conflict to talk about a political transition. Clinton stressed that the U.S. would continue to insist that Assad’s departure be a key part of that transition.
Russia and the United States have argued bitterly over how to address the conflict, which began with peaceful protests against Assad in March 2011 and escalated into a civil war. The U.S. has criticized Russia for shielding its closest ally in the Middle East, while Moscow has accused Washington of encouraging the rebels and being intent on regime change.
Russia’s foreign minister said Sunday that after he agreed to a U.S. proposal to have his and Clinton’s deputies “brainstorm” on Syria, the Americans began to suggest that Russia was softening its position.
“No such thing,” Lavrov said. “We have not changed our position.”
Germany weighed in Sunday on the future of Assad’s regime, with Federal Intelligence Service chief Gerhard Schindler saying it would not survive, although it was impossible to say how long it would hang on.
“Signs are increasing that the regime in Damascus is in its final phase,” he was quoted as telling the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
While Russia and Washington blame each other for the no resolution of Syria conflict, Syria is being destroyed. Whole cities are but a shadow of what they were just last year.
Total Syrian refugees registered or awaiting registration
The total number of registered refugees and individuals awaiting registration is 490,104 as of 5 December. This includes 11,740 Syrians registered with UNHCR in North Africa.
Damascus the Beautiful
Damascus has it history to keep the hopes alive for centuries to come.
“No recorded event has occurred in the world but Damascus was in existence to receive the news of it,” wrote Mark Twain after visiting Syria’s capital — known colloquially as al-Sham — in the 1860s. “She has looked upon the dry bones of a thousand empires, and will see the tombs of a thousand more before she dies.”
Over the centuries, Damascus has been conquered by a string of foreign invaders that extends from King David of Israel — chronicled in the Old Testament — straight through to the French, who occupied the city until 1945. In between, Damascus fell to a list of conquerors that includes the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Romans, Umayyads, Egyptian Mamluks, and Ottoman Turks. But now, roiled by the Arab Spring, the invasions are internal, with Syrian tanks and troops rolling into restive cities.
After the Umayyad conquest of Damascus in the seventh century, the Umayyad Mosque (seen above, circa 1900) was constructed on the site where a Byzantine church, a Roman temple, and before that an Aramean temple to the god of thunder and rain once stood.

Syrian Rebel Fighters to execute Iranians
Posted on October 6, 2012 by Akashma Online News
Syrian Rebel Army playing the wrong card, just think about their demands. They are demanding the Official Syrian Government to withdraw from areas of Damascus provinces. Damascus being the capital of Syria which make it of vital importance to control. The video shows a Rebel guy in army gear speaking with the suppose Iranian hostages behind him – See video under the article.
The Rebels insists that these are Iranian Soldier helping Bashar’s regime. The group of hostages look too old to be active soldiers, maybe one person in the group look younger than 50. Some sources that cited the article of the 48 Iranian hostages said that the Iranian Foreign Ministers had already said that some in between the 48 hostages are retired guards.
What type of Army is this Syrian Rebel Army? The seriousness of the issue involving nationals of a foreign country that has nothing to do with the internal conflict, it is a farce, undiplomatic, unreasonable, and irresponsible.
As a force that want to take the control of a country, using this low and cheap deal, talks of their character. More than an army they look like a bunch of bandits with tantrums unresolved.
The Rebel Group kidnapped 48 Iranian Nationals since last August, some Commander from the rebel group wants the Syrian Army out of Ghuta area, they gave 48 hours to comply with their demands or the hostages will be executed. So are they saying that Iranian civilians have to pay for their Rebel Army inability to fight the Government and win in a fair duel? and They have to resort to such cheap strategy. Are these rebels trying to bring Iran to the conflict, just like they tried with Turkey?…Not Wise
Most likely it is a move advice from “The Rebels Foreign Allies”, trying to test Iranian government, or better yet, they try to manipulate Syrian conflict to instigate Iran and its enemies to make Iran look weak and unable to resolve the hostage crisis.
“We are sure the Iranian men are helping the regime” of President Bashar al-Assad, Abul Wafa said.
I have been scrolling for hours Iranian Official News and can not find a suppose statement by Iranian Foreign Ministers, saying that some of the hostages are “Retired National Guard”, maybe he did say but no luck for me.
“Tehran has appealed for help to secure the release of the hostages who presumably are Iranian National retired guards, it says, they were visiting the Sayyida Zeinab shrine, a Shiite pilgrimage site on the southeastern outskirts of Damascus” according to the source -French News Agency in Beirut -cited in South China Monitor
Syrian opposition parties’ conference in Damascus commenced Sunday with presence of ambassadors of Iran, Russia and China. 15 opposition parties have arranged the meeting to hold talks and confer views over settlement of Syrian crisis. An informed source in Iran’s embassy in Damascus told ISNA these parties are against foreign interference, arming the insurgents and tribal warfare but demand reforms.
These opposition parties have held talks with Iran and their insistence on its participation in the conference show that they believe Iran plays an important role in ending the crisis, the informed source said. ISNA
Iran Does not Have Nuclear Weapons – Headlines News
Posted on October 04, 2012 by Akashma Online News

Ahmadinejad then told delegates that Iran has a “global vision and welcomes any effort intended to provide and promote peace, stability and tranquility” in the world.
“Iran may still be years away from any nuclear armed missiles”, is Reuters headlines today from Vienna. Iran is the new kid in the block.
“I still think that we are talking about several years … before Iran could develop a nuclear weapon and certainly before they could have a deliverable nuclear weapon,” said Shannon Kile, head of the Nuclear Weapons Project of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, a think-tank.” Huff Post
“Israel has already breached its own red line set by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by acquiring ‘dozens of nuclear warheads,’ Iranian Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi says.
‘If having the atomic bomb is passing the red line, the Zionist regime, that possesses dozens of nuclear warheads and weapons of mass destruction, has passed the red line years ago, and it has to be stopped,’ he said on Saturday, according to the ISNA news agency.” ISNA NEWS AGENCY
The Stream Media can report anything they want and the public avid for news will swallow it as if it is their red pill. But you do not have to believe everything you read, actually you shouldn’t believe anything you read. And what ever you read give it a deep thought, specially if your going to share the content.
The headlines run wild in every News Outlets that there is, but how much information is really truthful and informative. With the popularization of the blogs, the big News Outlets seen themselves competing with millions of blogs around the world, so they resort to “catchy” headlines and spicy pictures that can bring the attention of the readers back to their Editorials Headlines.
It is not easy any more for the “News Industry” to monopolize the events. Every citizen in the world equipped with a smart phone and youtube account can make the news any time and it cost absolutely nothing.
The mellow down of the headlines regarding Iran is worth an analysis, when for the past few months the rhetoric has been of an emergency to attack Iran to stop it from making nuclear weapons. Natayahu performance in the UN special session last week with his almost comic presentation of Iran nuclear weapons. Natayahu cartoonist graphics were as believable as Collin Powell Power Point presentation to the UN before the US decided to attack Iraq in 2003.
Really the major players don’t really care what we believe, they make their meetings at close doors and they decide what war to start today, or what conflict to fuel.
Back on 2003 Iraq was visited by the UN atomic agency Nuclear inspectors and they found nothing.
The Nuclear agency giving reports that the inspections found nothing, while Israel and US repeating in the Major News “Iraq has Nuclear Weapons”
January 24, 2001
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSBAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) — U.N. nuclear experts praised Iraq for cooperating with an inspection completed Wednesday, but refused to say whether they had found any evidence Iraq was restarting banned weapons programs.
The visit came as Iraq prepared to sit down with the United Nations to determine whether broader monitoring of its nuclear and other weapons programs could resume, and as the new U.S. administration made clear it will take a hard line on Iraq
Who do we believe? – “Israel’s warning last week that Iran will be on the brink of developing a nuclear weapon by mid-2013 seemed to refer to when it could have a sufficient stock of higher-grade uranium to make a quick dash to produce a bomb’s worth of weapon-grade material.” Reuter
While the Media keep repeating “Iraq kick the inspectors on 1998, to start their nuclear program”. The facts were saying, the Inspectors left in 1998 before UK start bombing Iraqi Targets.
“Almost all of those inspections have been halted since 1998, when the U.N. inspection team pulled out of Iraq ahead of U.S.-British bombings” This was part of an article run on the New York Times under the headlines “Nuclear Inspectors Praise Iraq”, while the article was pulled down by the New York times it can still be found in this link Nuclear News
The wording on every statement was aimed to taint Iraq credibility, and all the Major News paper were being part of this conspiracy to sway the mood against Iraq, to prepare the world for Iraq invasion on the guise of destroying the Piles of Iraqui Nuclear Weapons. Well that did not went to well and they change the Headlines to Bring Democracy to Iraq. “God Bless America” was repeated millions of times by the main stream media, as if with this expression US and its collision will be expiated from the horrors they were committing in Iraq.
Remember the famous “Iraq No Fly Zone”, The US and UK divided Iraq as it was a cake with a lame excuse and “armed” with a “UN Resolution” (which did not authorize Fly Zone or anything similar of that matter) they keep Iraq cripple in his own country, unable to property govern their own provinces. While the UN sanctions pushed by the US and Israel were creating a terrible misery in Iraq the US and UK keept bombing targets in Iraq preparing the way for an invasion.
And the headlines keept filling the hungry and innocent mind of the readers that did not know any more who was the savior and who the aggressor.
Now Iran is the bad boy of the block, yesterday was Syria, last year was Libya, that is how Mainstream Media functions.
Who is next in this line of fire? The Media has picked the suspects and the headlines are rolling every day.
“Bashar al-Assad, a British-trained doctor who inherited Syria’s harsh dictatorship from his father, Hafez al-Assad, had at first wavered between force and hints of reform. But in April 2011, just days after lifting the country’s decades-old state of emergency, he set off the first of what became a series of withering crackdowns, sending tanks into restive cities as security forces opened fire on demonstrators. In retrospect, the attacks appeared calculated to turn peaceful protests violent, to justify an escalation of force.” New York Times
So let’s read again the above statement, which is an excerpt from the New York Times overview of Syria conflict.
How is that Syrian government forces turning peaceful protests violent is going to benefit Syria? It is true that Bashar Al Assad had announced reforms and the lifting of the state of emergency, aren’t these two events enough to quite down the protests inside Syria? Why will the government want to incite violence? makes no sense at all, right?, but if you see it printed on the News headlines you only see the overly coat of propaganda directed to your sub conscience and the machinations of the propaganda started to dent inside your mind. Next thing you will be looking for news that read “Violence in Syria”, “Crackdowns in Syria” at this point you have lost objectivity and you become part of the game of propaganda. The Main Stream Media makes money out of your readership, so it will keep feeding you the same stories to keep you hooked up to their “News/Game”. The last thing they care is for the truth, they are interested on selling, so they print what it sells.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has announced reform measures, including the creation of a committee to study the possibility of lifting the country’s emergency law.
Syria’s state-run news agency, SANA, said Thursday the committee will complete its study by April 25.
Lifting the emergency law has been a key demand of protesters carrying out anti-government rallies in recent weeks. Voice of America
So why will they occupy with giving you boring news if what the people is asking is blood, gossip, wars, “interesting stuff”, they go to the extent to create the news for you. Different that giving you the news!
Browsing the internet I found this interesting story from Syria, at first may be uninteresting stuff, but if you think about it, just little bit, you get to the conclusion that Syria is a dynamic country with roughly 26 million inhabitants and the News insist on portraying a Syria in flames. The situation is getting more chaotic by the minute, and the conflict is heading to be a regional conflict with the latest news of confrontations with Turkey, that is just on more ally of the US and active member of NATO with 26 NATO bases in its territory. That is the next headlines!. Let’s bring Turkey to the gossip to make it more interesting. After all Turkey won little bit of credibility when financed the Mavi Marmara that sail with destiny to Gaza. But that is another story.
So it seems as Syria run business as usual in its cities; read the next news from Syria News Outlets, dated just 2 months ago. You can not possibly find this news in Main Stream Media, why will they bother, has nothing to do with Blood, Chaos, Conflict or war, as as far as they concern, “This is not News material”
President al-Assad Issues Decree on Establishment of New Mechanical Engineering Faculty and Medicine Faculty
Jul 09, 2012
DAMASCUS, President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday issued the decree No. 241 for 2012 stipulating for the establishment of the 2nd Mechanical Engineering Faculty affiliated to Aleppo University based in the city of Idleb and Medicine Faculty affiliated to al-Baath University based in the city of Hama.
Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohammad Yehiya Moalla, said this decree came to stress the continuity of providing free higher education for students in light of the growing number of holders of high school diploma with its various branches.
He added that the establishment of the new faculties will contribute to solving the problem of distance which sometimes hinder students’ enrollment in the university specialization he/she wants to study particularly among female students, in addition to filling the shortage in the Mechanical Engineering and Medicine specializations in the two provinces.
Syria threaten to use Chemical Weapons if foreign force intervention. WOW! this is hug headlines. Imagine everybody running to buy Gas masks.
Why in hell they run this News as headlines, but who run this headlines News? The New York Times off course, with their own alarmist style.
Syrian officials warned Monday that they would deploy chemical weapons against any foreign intervention, a threat that appeared intended to ward off an attack by Western nations while also offering what officials in Washington called the most “direct confirmation” ever that Syria possesses a stockpile of unconventional armaments.
That meticulous thought statement; “direct confirmation” ever that Syria possesses a stockpile of unconventional armaments (chemical weapons). With this the News is sending antennas to the world, using the same tactics used when the “US and the collision of the willing” wanted to invade Iraq.
Turkey fires artillery at Syria after 5 civilians killed in Turkish border villagen!
Are you serious 5 civilian killed and the News want Turkey to declare war against Syria?
It is sickening the way the “NEWS” are giving you the events all wrap up in blood. Please people do not be victim of their News, their propaganda and made up conflicts.
Yes there is chaos in the world, but most of the chaos is structured directly from the offices on NATO, US, UK, UN and Israel.
There is no way back is they turn this in WWIII. This could be the end of the world

Turkey hits Syrian targets

Ankara time 2012-10-04 03:51:53
Turkey on Wednesday attacked targets in Syria in response to the mortar shelling in southeastern Turkey from the Syrian side, a statement released by Turkish prime ministry said.
Turkey attacked the Syrian targets, after artillery shells from Syria fell in Turkey and killed five people in Akcakale, a border town in Turkey’ s Sanliurfa province.
“Our armed forces on border region have given the required response in line with the rule of engagements. Targets in Syria, which were detected by radar, were shot by shelling,” the written statement said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has contacted NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and UN-Arab League joint special envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahim, according to the statement.
In this regards, NATO council would hold an emergency meeting, it added.
“Turkey will never remain unresponsive against these sorts of provocations of Syrian regime within the framework of rules of engagement and international law,” the statement added.
Sanliurfa Governor Celalettin Guvenc said that three or four Syrian artillery shells landed in Akcakale town in Sanliurfa province bordering Syria, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
One of the artillery shells hit a house at around 16:30 local time (1330 GMT), killing a mother and her four children inside. ” At the incident, 10 people were wounded, including police officers. Two of those wounded are in serious condition,” Guvenc said.
“We have evacuated 30 residences in the region close to the Turkish-Syrian border, and schools went on a recess as a precautionary measure,” Guvenc added.
The governor urged Turkish people to “act with restraint,” adding that “We have informed our prime minister about the developments. All necessary meetings in Ankara are being conducted. ”
“The explosions in Akcakale town from the Syrian side caused strong panic, and tight security measures have been taken in the town,” Akcakale Mayor Abdulhakim Ayhan was quoted by Anatolia as saying.
Ayhan said two separate explosions occurred in the town. “After the first blast, many homes and businesses were damaged. A second blast took place at the same location,” Ayhan added.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received information about the explosions from Sanliurfa Governor Celalettin Guvenc, and held an urgent meeting of high-ranking officials, NTV said.
NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu said on Wednesday that NATO was closely and anxiously monitoring the situation in southeastern Turkey.
Ankara has repeatedly complained about the spillover of Syrian artillery and gun fire into its territory. Last week, the Turkish government signaled that it would take action if mortar strikes were repeated on its territory from Syria.
Bloodshed continues in Syria as gov’t troops appear to gain upper hand

Bloodshed continued in Syria Tuesday amid reports that the Syrian army has received reinforcements in the largest city of Aleppo and appears to have gained an upper hand in the prolonged clashes.
Government troops carried out “qualitative” operations in al-Qusair town near Homs in central Syria, killing 300 armed men and damaging 11 cars equipped with automatic machine guns, pro-government radio Sham FM reported.
Late in the day, a small blast rattled a military checkpoint in southwest Damascus, causing material damage, pro-government online media reported.
The situation in Aleppo also saw no improvement as a string of clashes that occured during the day turned the place into a flashpoint.
Government troops targeted an armed group on the airport highway at al-Ramouseh Bridge in Aleppo, killing all its members, state-run SANA news agency said.
In a seperate account, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said violent clashes have been taking place for hours in neighborhoods near the international airport of Aleppo as well as in a number of hotspots, killing at least 110 Syrians, including 66 unarmed civilians, 19 armed rebels and tens of government soldiers.
In a separate incident, dozens of “terrorists” were killed or injured near al-Jankiyeh orchard in al-Sheikh Khudr neighborhood of Aleppo when they were trying to rescue other gunmen in the area, SANA reported.
Meanwhile, a well-informed source told Xinhua on the conditioin of anonymity on Tuesday that the Syrian army has received reinforcements in Aleppo.
He said the troops managed to “isolate the countryside of Aleppo from the Turkish borders to cut off support lines of the armed rebels on ground,” adding that Aleppo is expected to be clean of rebels soon.
His claim echoed with the pro-government al-Watan newspaper, which said Tuesday that the shortage in the rebels’ ammunition and the cut-off of their funding channels “would eventually end the ongoing war in favor of the government,” citing military experts and observers.
The armed men have got tired and started to flee toward their cities and villages in Aleppo and other provinces, Al-Watan said.
The Syrian troops have received reinforcements in Aleppo, the paper said, adding that “it means that they are determined to purge the remnants in Aleppo, especially in the eastern part as soon as possible.”
However, the 19-month-long crisis might stretch longer than expected by the Syrian people, according to a high-ranking Syrian official.
The senior official was cited by the Lebanese al-Safir daily on Tuesday as saying that the crisis might drag on, noting that the Syrians have started “to cope with it and adapted themselves with its circumstances after realizing that the confrontation would be long and complicated.”
But he said the political leadership in Syria “still retains a lot of trump cards.”
The spiraling crisis has sparked wide concerns among Arab and South American leaders as they attended a bi-regional summit Tuesday in Peru’s capital Lima.
“The crisis in Syria represents the biggest challenge Arab countries face today,” said Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari who warned: “The crisis can be catastrophic not just for Syria, but for the entire region.”
Meanwhile, Deputy UN secretary-general Jan Eliasson said Tuesday the joint UN/Arab League representative for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, is going to be based in Cairo to promote his mediation of the Syrian crisis.
“Lakhdar Brahimi will work from Cairo from next week onward so that he is in proximity of the region and he will work very closely with his Egyptian colleagues,” he said when briefing the press on the just-concluded General Debate of the UN General Assembly.
Bashar Al-Assad provided Gaddafi Telephone Number?
Never forget the lessons of 1991 and 2003 when all the Middle Eastern Countries allied themselves with the US collision to attack Iraq.
We must remember the blood shed in Libya by the NATO forces, and the army of mercenaries that get infiltrated in the internal fight. While the Media was showing fake imagines of tortures by Gadaffe forces. Some of the videos were certified to be forgery, they were circulating in youtube as real, until the truth came out and those videos were exposed of events that happened in Iraq.
“The Assad regime in Syria brought about Muammar Gaddafi’s death by providing France with the key intelligence which led to the operation that killed him, sources in Libya have claimed.”
The Center Media plays it’s role as paid by it’s masters, the tactics have not changed. The propagation of scripted stories run wild until someone spots the truth and the truth surfaces and the commotion dies down.
We must be careful where we take our news or what we believe because our mind is so eager of new information that everything we feed it get processed but most of the time it is toxic media that we see in the big channels of TV.

All the pictures that Big Media portrayed of Col Muammar Gaddafe were carefully chosen to give you an Ugly face, “The Face of the Dictator” as they repeated over and over.
The Next article published 2 days ago, supposedly exposed Bashar Al-Alssad the President of Syria as traitor to Gaddafee. Some of the “information” they included in this article can not be verified, so as News goes, this could just be a gossip thrown around for the people to chew on something while Syria is being destroyed by the thugs.
Mr El Obeidi the same source named in this article according to telegraph, it is saying in its twitter that he would have say if he witnessed french agents killing Gaddafe! but apparently he did not.

French spies operating in Sirte, Gaddafi’s last refuge, were able to set a trap for the Libyan President Muammar Gaddafe after obtaining his satellite telephone number from the Syrian government, they said.
So why now the big fuss, this was a news published on October 23, 2011, The telegraph is even using the same picture of that article. Now they make headlines!?
It is obvious that they want to change the mood of the readers against Assad, now that all the blogs and independent media outlets are discounting the “Big Media News” as propaganda. They try to infuse interest back to their outlets.
The end of Gaddafi perhaps began with a phone call to Damascus by his apparatus satellite intercepted by NATO in Sirte, the last stronghold. And ended with a summary execution, preceded by a lynching, including sodomy of Colonel. An outrage In just a few seconds of video shot by a mobile phone immediately after capture and announced last night on YouTube. Il Gionale Italy
In what would amount to an extraordinary betrayal of one Middle East strongman by another, President Bashar al-Assad sold out his fellow friend in an act of self-preservation, a former senior intelligence official in Tripoli told the Daily Telegraph.
With international attention switching from Libya to Syria, Mr Assad offered Paris the telephone number in exchange for an easing of French pressure on Damascus, according to Rami El Obeidi.

“In exchange for this information, Assad had obtained a promise of a grace period from the French and less political pressure on the regime – which is what happened,” Mr El Obeidi said.

While it was not possible independently to verify his allegation, Nicolas Sarkozy, the former French president, played a leading role in both the NATO salvage intervention to bomb Libya and in bringing international pressure to bear on the Assad regime. Libya from one side was ready to free the African Union from the wrath of the International Monetary Fund, when he will have announced the opening of the first Muslim African Bank using billions of petro dollars backed up by Gold. On the other hand the Government of Syria is the last bastion of Arab power in the Middle East. Besides to be an Ally of Iran, China and Russia which players has been a continuous headache for Washington. Specially for its pet pariah state Israel, for Syria supports of Hezbollah and for being the HQ of Hamas the party that won the elections in Gaza in 2007
The claims by Mr El Obeidi, the former head of foreign intelligence for the movement that overthrew Gaddafi, followed comments by Mahmoud Jibril, who served as prime minister in the transitional government and now leads one of Libya’s largest political parties. He confirmed over the weekend that a foreign “agent” was involved in the operation that killed Gaddafi.
He did not identify his nationality. However the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera quoted Western diplomats in Tripoli as saying that if a foreign agent was involved “he was almost certainly French”.
The news of the Syria deal could potentially embarrass NATO, which initially claimed that it did “not target individuals”.
According to the alliance’s official version, an RAF reconnaissance plane spotted a large convoy of vehicles trying to flee Sirte on Oct 20th last year, two months after Gaddafi fled Tripoli.
NATO warplanes then bombed the convoy, apparently unaware of who was travelling in it, before militia fighters later found Gaddafi hiding in a drainpipe. He is believed to have been killed by his captors en route to the city of Misurata, west of Sirte.
But Mr El Obeidi said that France had essentially masterminded the operation by directing Libyan militiamen to an ambush spot where they could intercept Gaddafi’s convoy.
He also suggested that France had little interest in how Gaddafi was treated once captured, although the fighters were encouraged to try to take him alive.
“French intelligence played a direct role in the death of Gaddafi, including his killing,” Mr El Obeidi said.
“They gave directions that he was to be apprehended, but they didn’t care if he was bloodied or beaten up as long as he was delivered alive.”
Bashar al-Assad, right, and his brother Maher
These picture of the two brothers, showing two perfect faces, clean shaved and probably wearing expensive Italian Sun Glasses, goes along with the propaganda. In the past the Media “exposed” email from Bashar’s wife online shopping while the country is in fire. Nothing that you see in the Main Media it is coincidence. Every photo and every article is perfectly studied and chosen to serve a purpose.
According to Mr El Obeidi, French intelligence began to monitor Gaddafi’s Iridium satellite telephone and made a vital breakthrough when he rang a senior loyalist, Yusuf Shakir and Ahmed Jibril, a Palestinian militant leader, in Syria.
As a result, they were able to pinpoint his location and monitor his movements. Although Turkish and British military intelligence officers – including the SAS – who were in Sirte at the time were informed of the ambush plans in advance they played no role in what was “an exclusive French operation”, Mr El Obeidi said.
At the time of Gaddafi’s death, Mr El Obeidi had fallen out of favour with the most powerful faction in Libya’s transitional government because of his links with Gen Abdul Fatah Younes, a senior rebel commander killed by his own side in July last year.
Even so, he continued in his intelligence role in a semi-official but senior capacity.
Sources quoted by Corriere della Sera said one reason for the French lead in the operation was that then President Nicolas Sarkozy wanted Gaddafi dead after the Libyan leader openly threatened to reveal details of the large amounts of money he had donated to Sarkozy for his 2007 election campaign.
“Sarkozy had every reason to want to get rid of the colonel as quickly as possible,” Western diplomats said, according to the newspaper.
A spokesman at the French foreign ministry refused to confirm or deny the claims.

Pat Robertson from the 700 Club
Influential man working for Israel
Interests. Funding dissent and corruption
Journalist’s sources from the Washington DC confirmed the fact that CIA which is involved in the Syrian swamp, has actually began using Christian Zionists missionaries like Pat Robertson and famous Graham Bell foundation (Both known to be pro Israel and anti Arab world) in order to infiltrate into Syrian ministers and Cathedrals especially the ones known to be Pro Syrian administration and declared publically opposing the radical Wahhabi revaluation with known Al Qaeda mythology.
Promoting radical ideas about Christian Zionists including considering the POP and the church clergy as men of devil on earth
Christian Zionist is another version of Al Qaeda, where they refuse any Christian who doesn’t believe in Israel as first priority.

Maya Nasser killed by sniper fire
covering events in Damascus,Syria
September 26, 2012
Little bit after midnight, me looking out from the window of my bedroom inside Damascus city, watching a full sky moon and listening to the sounds of the army shelling rebels sites in outskirts, asking myself; is this real? Is this fire I can barely see is someone’s house burning, or maybe neighborhood store? Is this my country on fire? Then for a moment I convince myself, I am just dreaming and my day is going to be busy one, I better go sleep, I ought to wake up in few hours to go my work, multiple meetings are waiting ahead, then a lunch with my beloved girlfriend, afterward I have gathering with my best friend to discuss his wedding details. Basically; in few hours I have to get up to have another hard day of life? Who said life should be easy anyway!!!Then I snap out of this sweet dream, just to remember, I lost my job! That friend of mine had been killed few weeks ago; his body was sent to his fiancé in a black bag! We didn’t know why he was slaughtered; we didn’t understand what his fault was! He was a doctor serving patients, never been into politics, but sure never been pro Assad, amid all this, the reality hit me, he was minority and the years his father spent at prison for being opposition for the current system didn’t grant my friend any mercy, his ethnic roots were stronger to be noticed than his family position of this system! And yes this is my country, and this fire is at someone’s place, someone I might never know but that doesn’t mean he never existed!!!
Killings and counter killings became a regular day of our lives in Syria; some believes they have the right to kill because their god ordered them to do so! Some others believe its okay because they are trying to create better Syria so why not generate total chaos and begin from there. Most of them don’t care, they kill because they want to topple a president, blaming him in person for all the problems the state is going through, so why not killing his sect members, his army soldiers, his government officials, all their families – if possible – and everyone opposes their opinion!
In return those who believes Syria was in better state before the Arab Spring hits it, think themselves as a target, not only their opinions rather than their entity and their existence, nevertheless this might be true. Why not? Bombs and bullets aren’t smart enough to distinguish the right from the wrong, can’t determine whether this man deserves killing or not, and defiantly not interested if this person is pro Assad or against, as long as this piece of kill will initiate retaliation, and create a chaos.
Bottom line is; my people are dying and I am still in the line waiting my turn.

The veteran Arab journalist who resigned from Al-Jazeera Satellite TV in protest against its unbalanced media coverage.
Bin Jeddo added, in an interview with the Syrian Al-Dunia Satellite TV, that the aim of the said failing conspiracy was to dismember Syria, weaken its national project and distance it from resistance forces in the region.
The veteran journalist held the so-called opposition in Syria and those who support them responsible for the spilled Syrian blood, asserting that real opposition should never use weapons and violence against the citizens.
Bin Jeddo highly appreciated President Bashar al-Assad’s ongoing reforms which disappointed the conspirators who wanted to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs. Bin Jeddo asserted that his relation with Al-Jazeera is finished because he reached to the point that he couldn’t find himself neither morally, politically nor professionally, asserting that some Satellite TV Channels committed mistakes against Syria not by coincidence, but rather were based on real political decisions to target and harm Syria.
The Veteran Arab Journalist blasted the strategies adopted by some Satellite TV Channels when, for example, quoted eye-witnesses who weren’t present in Syria to eyewitness for the events and who resorted to fabrications and lies.
Head of Al Jazeera TV Station Office in Beirut Ghassan Bin Jeddo resigned from his post a few days ago, as “Al Jazeera has abandoned professionalism and objectivity, turning from a media source into an operation room that incites and mobilizes,” Lebanese As-Safir newspaper reported on Saturday.
Bin Jeddo confirmed this step in an interview with Al Manar website. He pointed out that “the reasons published in As-Safir behind the resignation are true, however they are not the full reasons”, adding that various other issues urged him to take this step that he will talk about its details later.
The Lebanese daily has quoted reliable sources saying that the unprofessional inciting attitude that Al jazeera is adopting at this historic phase in the region is unacceptable. The sources indicated to As-Safir the ethical base of Bin Jeddo’s resignation, as he cannot accept the station’s full coverage to the situation in Libya, Yemen, and Syria, while completely blacking out the crisis in Bahrain.
As for the policy Al jazeera is following on the Syrian situation, the sources clarified that this case is a matter of morals and principles for Bin Jeddo.
As-Safir pointed out that former Al Jazeera journalist supports the Syrian people’s demands; however, he recognizes the important national role that Syria plays in the region.

The Popular Movements that spread blood and violence in the Middle East and in the Northern of Africa in the last few months have given us a new direction in our World Politics of Control. We seen that dictators supported for decades by the Imperialist Powers of the US and the Club of the UN were puppets with guns, but the Real Power reside not in the castles that house these characters or the elaborated and richly adorned mansions of the puppets, the REAL POWER is in the People.
We saw the POPULAR MOVEMENT raising up from a REVOLTS to a Real REVOLUTION, from the people to the people. The armies of stooges (soldiers, police forces) were overwhelmed by the fierce resolve of the people that tired of oppression, repression, control and starvation broke the silence and took to the streets not minding any more for their security. Once the Fear was contemplated as a control tool and overcome, the next stage was easy, the joy of the Unity that was felt in the streets spread from neighborhoods to Cities to Countries.
We all the makers of the stories, the writers, the photographers, the witnesses and victims of the Revolutions did not needed the CORPORATE MEDIA to give us the NEWS, we saw the stories developed on front of us and we all share it as a personal message, as a comment, as an article, it did not matter the media we used we knew we were Sharing the Truth.
Some of the Revolts, Uprisings and Revolutions that we witnessed were manipulated by the Evil tentacles of the Central Governments of the Regions that took part in the making of these changing times.
Lies in a Wire
Images aired Danmark’s Radio, and allegedly documenting tortured Syrian demonstrators were false.
The images are from Iraq, and are several years old. Danmark’s Radio’s news program the 9 o’clock evening news May 16, aired ‘shocking images’ of Syrian demonstrators, who were being tortured by Syrian Government militias.
Danish state TV admits anti Syrian propaganda based on false images of torture
We heard rumors of paid mafia, mercenaries from Africa, Islamic Jidadists, we were not sure of none of them, only the actors were sure of their role, but something that we were sure was of the Propaganda machine that we know is well used to shape ideas, to twist truths, to instill terror, to label humans, the Corporate Media that has always played a central role in Any story that you see coming from the Box, and now an insider of one of the leading Arab News Outlets tells the world the machinations and lies spread in his own network, but seems that we still have honest writers even if they work inside the propaganda machine.
Chief Editor Thomas Falbe, who is responsible for the section for international news of Denmark’s Radio’s TV-Avisen [the 18:30 and 21:00 news]:
Regrettably the images were wrong. They are not from Syria, they are from Iraq. This is a regrettable mistake, says Thomas Falbe. The mistake will be rectified in the 21:00 hours news tonight
How DR could believe that these old pictures from Iraq were pictures from Syria?
Thomas Falbe: ‘We did what we could to verify the footage and received them from a source we trust’.
According to Thomas Falbe the mistake will have no consequences for anybody.
How an Editor in Chief of a Public Network can say so shamelessly that publishing lies has not consequences, I search the news and compare Quotes, accusations, reversals, publications and I make an opinion of the diverse sources that I research, but Sadly for the world, majority of People read the first News that is serve in their Box and they make their opinion based on that, and as I just pointed out in this article two big networks exposed on the same topic, Syria, caught red handed but what about the countless others news that are Spread as the Truth, and no one care to explore the other side of the story? We the public had been deceived for many years regarding many issues that matters to us. Take this two examples that were exposed at time, and next time that you want to make a point and argue, and maybe writing a blog about it, do not use the first article that you read, do not take the first conversation as truth, please there are many options in this modern times to find the Truth.
Head of Al Jazeera TV Station Office in Beirut Ghassan Bin Jeddo resigned from his post a few days ago, as “Al Jazeera has abandoned professionalism and objectivity, turning from a media source into an operation room that incites and mobilizes,”
At the end of the story even the most credible and best articulated story needs to be filter by you, at the end you are the Opinion MakerOpinion Maker, never believe one source, research deep in the Web. Now days you have better chances to capture the True Story in the blogers mind, and the facebook spaces, we do not serve interest of any kind. We do it for Truth Justice and to achieve peace on Earth. Akashma
We have seen the power of the media shaping our realities, like artisans their Propaganda Machine craft the lies so well with the truth that sometimes you can not really see the story behind. We have had for more than 63 years how the written word and the images on TV gave you the Wrong Idea of Palestine. Only now that we have the social networks and armies of bloggers writing, sharing us the truth is that we know that we were lied, that Palestinians are not “Islamist Terrorists” , Palestinians, Syrians, Egyptians or any other human being that has been struggling for justice are just that Humans that humanity was obscure by the Propaganda machine of the TV News.
Now that we know, we have the obligation to help us all, we have the responsibility to the others the ones that still can not see, we all need to give them guidance, good sources, information leading to the truth. My human fellows we can do it if like Vittorio Arrigoni says in his writings Stay Human.
The honest writers that strive to achieve peace in this world, that uncover the lies, they have to make sacrifices, like Vittorio Arrigoni that he needed to see for himself the crude reality of Gaza, how other way he could have giving us the horrors that Israel inflict in the Population of Gaza, only becoming witness and victim gave Vik the tools to give us the truth. Stay Human was his motto, is the only way to see the truth, to feel the pain of others, if we keep our humanity intact.
Other writers like Bin Jeddo that was forced to give up a well paid job to maintain his integrity as a writer and in the way exposing Aljazeera TV News that for so long was trying to stay afloat to be different from the rest, but at the end succumbed to the money that support the web of journalists, reporters around the world. It is hard to maintain the neutrality when the hand that pays your salary has interest vested in the ‘OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY”, we all try to stay neutral give you unbiased news, but it is our Opinion, be your own Opinion Maker and help us all to shape a better world.
Peace
Love be with you and around you
